MINUTES

Brookings Flying Club General Meeting

Brookings Airport, Brookings, OR

September 11th, 2024

 

Call to order: Meeting to order at 6:31 PM. 

 

Reading of Minutes: August 2024 minutes read and accepted.

 

    1. Fuel Farm Manager 
      1. Recent load of Jet A received
      2. Fuel filter annual change performed
      3. 2-3 months away from 100LL load needed
      4. Deposit paid to painting company to refinish tank exteriors
    2. Airplane Maintenance.  
      1. Landing light inop
      2. A couple of minor issues will be addressed
    3. Treasurer Report
      1. Account balances reported
  • Youth Committee and Scholarship
    1. Young Eagles program discussed, experience flights
    2. Patrick will put together a proposal on how to fund young eagles flights

Old Business:

  1. none 

New Business:

  1. Security Keypad to be replaced
  2. Club members please email Tony Barron with airport issues the city of Brookings needs to address
  3. Club Plan engine replacement discussion
    1. New Quote for a 180 HP engine received, along with an early 2025 installation availability
    2. Discussion around this opportunity to upgrade 738HP.  It was decided to proceed with the 180HP engine replacement
