MINUTES

Brookings Flying Club General Meeting

Brookings Airport, Brookings, OR

October 11th, 2023

 

Call to order: Meeting to order at 6:35 PM. 

 

Reading of Minutes: The September 2023 minutes were read and stand as read.

 

    1. Fuel Farm Manager 
      1. Jet A, time to order fuel
      2. 100LL load recently delivered
      3. Annual filter change completed
      4. 2 new fuel checkers online
      5. Paint outside of tanks needed, solicit quotes – Alan
    2. Airplane Maintenance.  
      1. Engine heater installed
      2. Mag service completed and continued to run rough at at times, another maintenance was performed, replace capacitors
    3. Treasurer Report
      1. Account balances reported
      2. Good overall cash position currently
  • Youth Committee and Scholarship
    1. Career fair in Canyonville is complete.  150+ people talked with Rosie

Old Business:

  1. None discussed

New Business:

  1. Scholarship application received.  Discussion on how to best structure and schedule.  Peter will call flight school to ask how and when tuition is due to help best determine how the club can provide Emma with an award.
  2. No radio is available in the club hangar.  A handheld unit would run approx $300
  3. Should the club mark taxi lines in front of the fuel farm.  Discussion on how that might work or not for different aircraft.  No official line will be painted by the club.
  4. Need to clean up the trash pile in front of the hangar.
  5. Call for new board members.
