Brookings Flying Club General Meeting

Brookings Airport, Brookings, OR

September 13th, 2023

 

Call to order: Meeting to order at 6:30 PM. 

 

Reading of Minutes: The August 2023 minutes were read and stand as read.

 

1. 1. Fuel Farm Manager 
      1. 100L fuel is ordered
      2. The Hand-sump on 100LL is due for repair in the next week
   2. Airplane Maintenance.  
      1. Series of mag checks that are initially poor, but able to be cleared with leaning.  Thin wire plug(s) coming
   3. Treasurer Report
      1. Account balances reported
      2. Good overall cash position currently

• Youth Committee and Scholarship

1. 1. Rosie is soon attending the career fair in Canyonville
   2. Discussion on if the club should be sending email to local schools about field trips

Old Business:

1. Club plane engine overhaul discussion
   1. Potential of needing some cylinder repair or replacement with a recent cold cylinder pressure test result
   2. new/overhauled complete engine discussion  running from and estimated 45k-80k depending on engine size. 

New Business:

1. Reporter on the membership vote recently held
   1. Passed – ability for the club to give scholarship money to part 141 flight schools
   2. Passed – Board benefit changes
   3. Acquire or Lease a 2nd aircraft 15-yes. 4-No
2. Discussion on an emergency kit for the club aircraft
3. New Billing system is being rolled out
